AI Content and Assistance

The first draft is written by the AI, based on the ideas and direction I give it. That draft then goes through a direct exchange between me and the tool: I correct it, rephrase it, ask for changes, discard what doesn't work. Only after this exchange does the AI write the text I consider final, which in turn goes through a second round of review and manual corrections on my part.

When a text already exists in one language and is missing in the others, the translation into the missing languages is generated with the same tools, starting from the text I wrote first.

The idea of what to write, the structure, the editorial and technical decisions, the final corrections, and the responsibility for what I publish are always mine. I use these tools the way I'd use an editor or a translator, not as a substitute for human creativity and intellect.

Article 50(4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act) requires disclosing the artificial origin of text that has been generated or manipulated by AI and published to inform the public on matters of public interest.

The same rule exempts text that has undergone human review and for which a person assumes editorial responsibility, which is exactly the process described above. In other words: this disclosure isn't required of me by law.

I'm publishing it anyway, by choice. I regularly use artificial intelligence tools in my work, and I see no reason to hide it: they are tools, not something to be ashamed of. I'd rather disclose it openly than rely on a legal exemption that would let me avoid doing so.
