Cookie Notice

This site stores only two pieces of information, and only when you yourself carry out the action that generates them: the language you choose and the theme you choose. Nothing tracks you, nothing builds a profile of you and nothing is shared with any advertiser. That's why you won't see a cookie banner on this site. This page explains in detail what data is stored, who is responsible for processing it and why the law allows this site to do without a cookie banner.

What stays in your browser
The site stores nothing in your browser simply by loading a page. The two values listed below are only written if you carry out the action that generates them: clicking the language selector, or switching the theme toggle.
- locale (cookie)
- A cookie holding the language you've chosen, written only when you follow a link in the language selector, never when a page loads. It ensures the site opens in your language the next time you reach the root address. It lasts one year, contains no identifier, and is sent only to this site.
- lcp-theme (local storage)
- The light or dark theme you've chosen, stored in the browser's local storage, not in a cookie. It's written only when you switch the toggle, never when a page loads. While it stays empty, the site follows your operating system's preference and changes along with it. It never expires: it's removed only when you clear this site's data from your browser.
Why there's no cookie banner
Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002, of 11 July (LSSI-CE), as amended by Real Decreto-ley 13/2012, which transposes into Spanish law EU Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC (commonly known as the "Cookie Directive"), requires your consent before storing information on your device or reading it, with one exception: where that information is strictly necessary to provide a service you yourself have explicitly requested.
Both values fall under this exception. The language is stored because you've just clicked the selector to choose it, and the theme because you've just switched the toggle. Neither is written unless you take that action yourself, and neither serves any purpose other than remembering the choice you made. The measurement described below, by contrast, stores nothing on your device, so it falls outside the consent requirement set out in that article.
A cookie banner asking permission for these two values would disrupt your browsing for no reason, since the law doesn't require it. And getting people used to clicking "accept" without reading does more harm than not asking at all, when (as here) there's nothing to ask.
Measurement doesn't use cookies
Two services run on this site. Both work without identifying you and without leaving any trace in your browser.
- Vercel Speed Insights
- Vercel Speed Insights measures page load speed. It sends the page path, device type, browser, connection speed and country. Vercel states that this data isn't linked back to a specific visit.
- Sentry
- Sentry logs technical errors on the site, so I can find and fix them. It sends the error message, the point in the code where it occurred and the page it happened on. It's configured not to collect personal information: no IP address, no form contents, no cookies. Session replay, which would capture what you do on the page, is switched off.
How to opt out of measurement
If you'd rather not appear even in the aggregated, anonymous data collected by Vercel Speed Insights and Sentry, you can install a browser extension that blocks third-party scripts, such as uBlock Origin. An extension of this kind stops your browser sending data to either service. The site will keep working exactly as before: no feature of the site depends on these two tools.
If anything changes
If I add a feature in future that requires your consent (for example, a tool that stores data not strictly necessary for you to use the site), I'll add a cookie banner asking for your consent before that feature stores anything, and I'll update this page accordingly.
The "last updated" date at the top of the page shows the last time this text was changed: if that date hasn't moved, the content of this page hasn't been updated and everything described above still holds.
